Web Site Payment Provider Review – Paypal

One of the most important investments you can make for your online business is your online payment provider. When the time comes to decide on a payment provider, it is important to weigh in a few factors such as cost to set up, flexibility, and integration and ease of use for developers. a Paypal account. Best of all, people who do have a Paypal account can just sign in and save time during checkout.

With that said, there are many other benefits that come with Paypal that you should consider.

Paypal offers you more than the ability to take payments from people around the world. The most impressive thing about Paypal is the amount of free and paid 3rd party e-commerce software that ingrates easily into it. It is almost impossible to find a trusted shopping cart solution that does not have a plug ‘N play compatibility with Paypal. Compared

Sometimes you may find the need to modify your shopping cart or product page. Paypal is one of the easiest payment providers for developers to work with because it has fantastic documentation and is developed with the understanding of how real world businesses work.

The reason I say this is because Paypal allows a business to not just take one time payments but also offer subscriptions as well as the ability to track when refunds or cancellations take place. With a large support group and terrific documentation, from a developer’s standpoint, developing for Paypal is usually an enjoyable experience.

With Paypal you can create an affiliate program (Usually built into 3rd party e-commerce software) and pay all affiliates once per month just by logging into Paypal? All you have to do is generate a CSV file of each affiliate (name, email, what they have earned for the prior month) and you can use Paypal’s ‘mass pay’ feature which allows you to send all of those affiliates their payment, from your Paypal account (or the associated checking account) to theirs in a matter of seconds. This is one of my favorite things about Paypal – they understand the needs of web site owners. Of course, that does not mean that they are perfect.

Some of the things t consider are: Pay close attention to their terms of service and, if you feel you will have a sudden surge of sales or sales with a large price tag, give their customer support a call ahead of time just to make sure you aren’t flagged for suspicious activity. While the odds of this happening are not high, you always want to play it safe with a company that can freeze your account at any time. As long as you are not doing anything corrupt, you should be fine. Paypal is so large and they have to have protection mechanisms in place.

Concluding, outside of some strict rules that need to be followed, you will probably enjoy your experience with Paypal – especially if you are new to the web and just want to start taking payments without any upfront investment. If you want a payment provider that has decent customer service, is accepting payments from all over the world and does not require you to undergo the process of a merchant account, I cannot recommend Paypal enough for your first venture into e-commerce. Should your needs change over time, you can always consider companies like First Data or Authorize.Net – two online merchant account providers we have worked with in the past that we also enjoyed working with.
