Shopify B2B Integration Services

69% of B2B operations use accounting tools alongside their eCommerce platform. Without integration between Shopify and your ERP, CRM, or accounting system, someone is manually reconciling orders, inventory, pricing, and customer records. Shopify supports three integration paths: direct App Store connectors, iPaaS platforms, and custom API builds.

B2B operations use accounting tools alongside eCommerce

According to Shopify, 69% of B2B operations use accounting tools compared to 55% of DTC only businesses. For manufacturers and wholesalers, the gap between Shopify and the back office systems grows with every order that requires manual reconciliation.

Integration paths Shopify officially supports for B2B

Shopify documents three integration paths: direct integrations from the App Store for select ERPs and accounting systems, iPaaS platforms that act as middleware between Shopify and external systems, and custom API builds for unique requirements. The right path depends on the systems involved and the complexity of the data flows required.

43,000+

Customers on NetSuite, the most commonly deployed ERP in the Shopify mid market

NetSuite serves over 43,000 customers worldwide and is the most widely deployed ERP among Shopify Plus merchants. Celigo is the most widely used iPaaS connector for NetSuite and Shopify, with pre built flows for orders, inventory, customers, and fulfillment.

90%+

Reduction in manual order adjustments with structured ERP connected pricing

Manufacturers and wholesalers who connect ERP pricing to Shopify B2B catalogs through iPaaS integration report reducing manual order price corrections by over 90% compared to maintaining pricing separately in both systems.

Working with Shero Commerce for the past three years has been a game changer for our B2B ecommerce business. Their expertise in website support and ecommerce strategy has significantly improved our online presence and optimized our B2B operations.

The three integration paths for Shopify B2B and when to use each

The most common mistake in Shopify B2B integration is choosing the wrong path for the systems involved. Direct App Store connectors work well for widely deployed ERPs where a certified integration exists and the data flows match standard patterns. iPaaS platforms like Celigo, Patchworks, Boomi, and Jitterbit work well when the integration is more complex, when multiple systems need to connect, or when the team needs visibility into data flows without developer involvement. Custom API builds are the right path when neither of the first two options fits the specific system or business logic required.

Where Shopify B2B integrations fail and how to prevent it

Most integration failures are not caused by the ERP or by Shopify. They are caused by integrations built without a data map, without defined error handling, and without a plan for what happens when the two systems disagree on the same record.

01

Data mapping before any build work starts

Every integration project begins with a data mapping session that documents which fields move in which direction, how conflicts are resolved, what triggers a sync, and how errors are handled. JustRite, CCL, and Benchmade all went through this before any integration code was written. Shero's ERP integration page documents this process in detail.

02

App Store connector compatibility with B2B company accounts

Not all Shopify App Store integrations are compatible with Shopify B2B companies and catalogs. This is documented in Shopify's help center. Before selecting any connector, compatibility with B2B company accounts, price lists, net terms, and draft orders must be verified against the connector's documentation.

03

iPaaS selection based on systems, not brand preference

Celigo is the most widely used connector for NetSuite and Shopify. Patchworks is preferred for UK based operations and retail specific ERP connectors. Boomi and Jitterbit work better for complex multi system orchestration and on premises ERP connections. The platform is selected based on the systems involved, not on which name is most recognized. See our Shopify Plus B2B page for full detail.

04

Bidirectional sync with defined error handling

A complete integration sends orders from Shopify to the ERP for processing and returns inventory updates, tracking numbers, and fulfillment status back to Shopify. Error handling defines what happens when a record fails: flagged for retry, routed to a queue for manual review, or escalated to an alert. Silent failures are the most expensive integration problem.

05

B2B pricing sync from ERP to Shopify catalogs

For manufacturers where pricing is managed in the ERP, Shopify Plus catalog price lists sync through the Admin API. Price changes in the ERP flow to the correct company level catalogs automatically. Shopify Winter 2026 edition expanded prebuilt bidirectional sync through Patchworks covering companies, orders, payment terms, products, and pricing.

06

Post launch monitoring and maintenance are part of the scope

Integrations require maintenance. Platform updates, API version deprecations, and business rule changes all affect live integrations. The scope of any integration project includes a defined support arrangement and a runbook for the operations team covering how to identify and resolve data errors without developer involvement for every incident. See our Shopify ERP integration page for full detail.

How Shopify B2B integration projects run

01

System Audit and Integration Scoping

Current systems, API versions, data volumes, sync frequency requirements, and existing integration points are documented. The right integration path (App Store, iPaaS, or custom API) is selected based on the systems and requirements involved.

02

Data Mapping Session

Every field that moves between systems is documented: direction, transformation logic, conflict resolution rules, error handling, and sync triggers. This session is the foundation of the integration build.

03

Integration Build and Configuration

For iPaaS integrations, flows are configured and tested in the platform. For custom integrations, both the Shopify API and ERP API are built against with documented endpoints. B2B specific flows including company accounts, price lists, and draft orders are included in scope.

04

End to End Testing

Full test cycle covering order creation, inventory updates, pricing sync, company account data, and error scenarios. Edge cases including failed records, API timeouts, and concurrent updates are tested before go live.

05

Go Live and Post Launch Monitoring

Monitored go live covering the first sync cycles, a runbook for the operations team, and a defined support arrangement for platform updates and business rule changes that affect the integration.
