Avalara joined the Shopify Tax Platform in 2024 and now runs on all Shopify plan sizes not just Plus. The legacy AvaTax integration was deprecated in April 2025. TaxJar, owned by Stripe, remains a strong US multi-state option. Shero has configured both on production stores and knows where setup goes wrong without expert guidance.

Nexus monitoring as your business grows

Post-Wayfair, economic nexus triggers in every state with a $100,000 revenue threshold a growing Shopify store can create new obligations in a new state with no physical presence at all. Shero configures nexus monitoring so obligations are detected as they arise, not discovered in an audit. We advise on state registration requirements once nexus is established.

The legacy Avalara AvaTax app was deprecated in April 2025. Merchants still on the old setup faced compliance gaps at that deadline. Shero handles the migration to the current Avalara Tax Compliance app, including product code remapping and go-live testing to confirm calculations are accurate before the switch.
