Introduction

Providing clients with a site redesign in support of a rebrand is 100% in our wheelhouse. Atana (formerly known as Media Partners), a leading media and communications company that excels in delivering tailored solutions for businesses looking to thrive in the modern media landscape, approached us with a redesign project that came with a few conditions:

Some may call these conditions ‘adverse risks’, but our team determined an ‘acceptable risk’ approach based on our core values Shero Culture and Values – Shero Commerce and technical expertise. In other words, we acknowledged that coordinating with the client and external agency executing the technical content pages and integrations for the new site while undergoing a Magento version upgrade, within a tight timeframe, does pose risks. But, since we are seasoned risk-takers, and technical experts, and value excellent communication and partnerships, we embraced the project.

A successful outcome relied heavily on our project management team’s ability to establish strong communication channels – and the expectation that communication needed to be fluid, transparent and frequent among all parties involved. Given our Magento expertise, Shero was the communication lead for the project, and our team was responsible for driving all three parties: the client, the design agency, and Shero.

A rebrand from Media Partners to Atana coincided with the roll-out of their new proprietary products. Atana wanted to upgrade their Google Analytics to GA4, which required a Magento version upgrade. A lot at once, and both require tight deadlines. The Atana site is non-transactional, so our main deliverable was straightforward content page creation. However, we were faced with the very unusual situation of having to work across versions of Magento. Development had to be performed on the outdated version of Magento, which meant that every step needed to be compatible with the updated version. This scenario would have proven very challenging for any agency without expertise in Magento. We leveraged our technical expertise to navigate this parallel work and deployed production in phases to mitigate risk and minimize re-work. Communicating, every step of the way.

Being able to create and customize content in-house is a priority for Atana’s internal developer team. We integrated Page Builder overview | Adobe Commerce in the redesign, which allows the team to easily manage content on an ongoing basis. And with the upgrade to GA4, we built a custom events feature that can track events and provide Atana with insightful data. Added bonuses.

In the end, the risk was worth the reward. Redefining Workplace Culture & Training | Atana launched on June 16 on the updated Magento platform, with GA4 integrated and a fully redesigned brand. Six weeks, start to finish, this project would not have been possible without our technical expertise and our ability to communicate well.
