Introduction

Hab+Dash is a division of Fil-Tec (filament technologies), an enterprising brand in the sewing industry, whose mission is to get premium products into the hands of all quilters and embroiderers. Their customers demand quality products; after all, they create elegant and artfully crafted quilts and textiles that can be passed from generation to generation. Knowing this, Hab+Dash was aware that their website needed to represent the same trusted quality and enjoyable customer experience that their maker-clients put into their own craft.

Goals

The primary goal was to update the site’s functionality and user experience. To start, we planned to migrate the site from Magento 1 to Magento 2 Commerce B2B—the former site suffered from speed issues and security concerns, and this would be a major upgrade. From there, we could use the M2 Commerce B2B module to streamline the sales and ordering process for their B2B client base. By integrating a modular CMS system, the team could then leverage their own marketing and customer service efforts.

Approach

Site speed is a necessity for enhancing user experience, so speed and responsiveness were prioritized. We then implemented a company structure via Magento Commerce’s B2B Module, which includes shared accounts with unique permissions for purchasing, giving quotes, and more. Once B2B pricing was set up, this enabled specific pricing to be set for certain customer groups. To benefit in-store traffic, a store locator was added using this extension from Amasty. And last, Page Builder was used to provide ease-of-use for future site edits.

After a smooth migration, Hab + Dash now has a more responsive and secure site. Even more so—and crucial to an enhanced user experience—Hab+Dash customers can now manage their accounts within their own company account, where admins can add additional company users. This, in turn, enables multiple purchasing agents to buy products using their own login/account. A simplified Store Locator helps to increase in-store traffic, while the new Page Builder—including training and assistance—allows Hab+Dash’s team to make website updates as needed, helping to increase online traffic.

With a speedy, well-designed website that offers their customers an enjoyable, reliable shopping experience, Hab+Dash can continue crafting quality products at fair prices, with exceptional customer service.
