House of Staunton’s original website was on the outdated Magento 1 platform, with security flaws, outdated customizations, and a slow site speed. Our goal was to upgrade to Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce powered by Magento), increase page-load speed and allow for better scalability and customer experience.
We started with a full analysis of the existing site, complete with discovery calls to understand both the technical and branding challenges and goals.
Though they had their own brand identity, it needed to be maintained across the site. Analytics data, based on the customer journey, was used to create effective design focused on customer experience.
New integrations included MailChimp email marketing, Pepperjam for affiliate links, and a custom module that allowed for customization of chess pieces, boards, and boxes when previewing a product.
By eliminating old customizations and hacks that caused security issues, and with a full redesign using the Hyva theme, site speed and scalability were greatly enhanced.
