Introduction

Founded in 1906, Justrite, a division of Justrite Safety Group, is a leading manufacturer of storage, handling, and workplace safety products. For more than a century, Justrite has remained an industry leader — so it’s no surprise that the company has seen steady success with online sales, as well. With a growing number of portfolio brands being established under the Justrite Safety Group, each with a specific focus, the company chose to enhance customer experience by allowing customers to shop multiple brands using one seamless checkout system. A multi-store website was the solution.

Goals

Previously, Justrite supported separate Magento Open Source online stores for four different brands under the umbrella of Justrite Safety Group. Shero’s task was to merge each of the brands into a single unified site, while still retaining the independent brand’s stock, merchandising, and fulfillment. 

In this case, each store would retain its own catalog, but be powered by a single shared-checkout process. This means that an order can contain one or more items from each of the four store views, all combined into a single cart.

Approach

After a deep-dive discovery phase, we found opportunities for better customer experience in multiple areas, beyond checkout: SEO, search, shipping, and more.

First, Shero ensured a smooth data migration, bringing over product, customer, CMS, and blog data from the individual sites to the megasite multi-store — while allowing uninterrupted customer order access during the process.

We then built the front-end based on a streamlined design focused on performance, as well as key features discussed during discovery that are unique to the Justrite sites.

Results  

Between a custom ERP integration, complex migration from four open-source stores to a single multi-store, and a breeze module implementation for improved performance, the megasite went live in January 2022, and almost immediately organic traffic doubled, steadily increasing over the next six months.

What resulted was a four-store multi-store setup that allows one customer to shop each brand by switching between tabs, yet still using one cart.
