Email Design for eCommerce Brands

A flow that converts badly is usually not a segmentation problem. The offer sits under three product blocks. The button reads like body copy. On a phone it arrives as one long scroll with no clear next step. We design your campaigns and lifecycle emails around hierarchy and the phone screen, so the subscriber reads the message the strategy intended.

Mobile first

Where every template gets approved

An email that reads cleanly in a desktop preview and collapses into a narrow column on a phone fails for the larger part of a list. Templates get built and signed off on mobile before anyone looks at them on a desktop, and the hierarchy is set so the offer survives the narrow column rather than falling under it.

Klaviyo

Designed inside the platform the emails send from

Designing in isolation and handing over flat images produces emails that cannot be edited, do not render in dark mode and break on older clients. We build directly in the platform, which also keeps the design tied to the segments and merge tags your Klaviyo setup already uses.

+18%

Email ROAS lift at Archer Roose

Archer Roose saw an 18% increase in email marketing ROAS working with us, alongside a 35% improvement in mobile browsing session duration. The two moved together, which is the pattern when the email and the page it lands on are designed by the same team.

One team

Strategy, copy and design in the same room

When the strategist, the copywriter and the designer are three vendors, the offer gets decided in one place and laid out in another by someone who was not in that conversation. We keep all three together so the design is made against the segment and the offer rather than a brief.

Working with Shero Commerce for the past three years has been a game-changer for our B2B ecommerce business. Their expertise in email marketing, website support, and ecommerce strategy has significantly improved our online presence and optimized our B2B operations.

What we design

Promotional campaigns, product launches, newsletters, seasonal sends, and the lifecycle emails behind welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase and win-back. Each one gets built as a reusable module set rather than a one-off file, so the next send does not start from scratch.

  • Promotional and seasonal campaigns
  • Product launch sends
  • Welcome and post-purchase flows
  • Abandoned cart and browse abandonment
  • Win-back and lapsed customer emails
  • Editable template and module library

Why brands hand us email design

Email design gets judged on how it looks in the deck and paid for on how it performs in the inbox, and those two things reward different decisions. We design for the second one, which usually means fewer blocks, a harder hierarchy and a lot more attention to what the first screen on a phone contains.

01

Hierarchy decided before anything is decorated

Every email has one thing it wants the reader to do, and the layout either makes that obvious in the first screen or buries it. We set the hierarchy against the offer first, then design around it, which is why our emails tend to have fewer blocks than the ones they replace.

02

A module library, not a stack of one-off files

Designing every campaign from zero is slow and produces a program that looks slightly different every week. We build a module set that covers the sends you actually make, so a new campaign is assembled rather than drawn.

03

Flow emails designed for where they sit in the sequence

A welcome email and a win-back are aimed at people in completely different states and should not look the same. We design each flow email against the moment it arrives in, which means different density, different offer weight and sometimes plain text.

04

Consistent with the store, the ads and the feed

Email is often the channel that drifts furthest from the brand system because it is produced under deadline every week. We design it against the same rules as the storefront and the social assets we produce, so a customer who sees all three reads them as one company.

05

Tested against how email clients actually render

Dark mode inversions, clipped Gmail sends and images blocked by default break more campaigns than bad design does. Every template gets tested across clients before it goes into a flow, because a send that renders badly cannot be pulled back.

06

Design that answers to the segmentation behind it

A single creative sent to the whole list is a design brief with no strategy in it. Where we also run the email and SMS program, the design request arrives with the segment, the offer and the reason attached, which changes what gets made.

How an email design engagement runs

01

Review of what is sending now

We look at your live flows and recent campaigns, how they render on a phone, and where the hierarchy is working against the offer.

02

Template and module design

We design the module set and the master templates first. Campaign and flow emails get assembled from these afterwards.

03

Lifecycle email design

Welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase and win-back get designed for the moment each one lands in.

04

Campaign production

Monthly campaigns and seasonal sends produced against the calendar, built from the module set and tested before scheduling.

05

Handover and ongoing production

Templates stay editable inside the platform so your team can run routine sends. We carry the volume and the campaigns that need new creative.

Invisible Bead Extensions®

Working with Shero Commerce on our migration from WordPress to Shopify was honestly such a pleasant experience. We’d been on WordPress for five years with tons of content and very specific styling, and moving all of it into one cohesive Shopify site was no small feat — this was a genuinely complex, highly technical migration. But they pulled it off on deadline with zero errors and zero issues. Their team showed up with everything we needed: a project manager, multiple developers, marketing leads, email specialists, and CRO experts, all coordinated through dedicated meetings and a real task management system. They also designed several high impact conversion pages so our digital presence didn’t just function better — it looked beautiful too. Since migrating, we’ve seen an increase in revenue thanks to having one simplified, cohesive platform. I’m so grateful for how seamlessly they executed this, and I’d recommend Shero Commerce to anyone facing a migration like ours.“
