This guide covers 27 BigCommerce agencies, sorted into Elite, Preferred, Partner, and Enrolled by the tier each one holds in the BigCommerce Partner Directory today.
Every tier below was checked in the directory on October 5, 2026. Each profile covers what the agency specializes in, who it fits, and BigCommerce clients you can check yourself. The order inside each tier is alphabetical and does not reflect any preference.
Quick snapshot: 27 BigCommerce agencies across 4 tiers
Here is how the agencies in this guide split by tier, next to the full directory count:
| Tier | In the directory | In this guide | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Elite | 14 | 7 | Enterprise builds, B2B, and ERP heavy projects |
| Preferred | 12 | 6 | Mid market builds with a long BigCommerce track record |
| Partner | 30 | 6 | Specialists in one service or one ERP |
| Enrolled | 693 | 8 | Everything from small builds to established agencies outside the tier system |
What the BigCommerce partner tiers actually mean
BigCommerce sorts agency partners into four tiers: Elite, Preferred, Partner, and Enrolled. The directory is public and the tier appears on every listing.
BigCommerce does not publish its full tier criteria. Its partner terms do set a minimum of prior year referred monthly recurring revenue for each paid tier: $20,000 for Elite, $10,000 for Preferred, and $5,000 for the tier below that.
Those 14 Elite agencies are the worldwide count. Filter the partner directory to Elite and you will see the same list.
A tier reflects the business an agency has referred to BigCommerce. It says nothing about team size or technical range, and it moves: between our July and September 2026 checks, Ballistic Agency went from Elite to Enrolled and Irish Titan went from Enrolled to Partner.
Use tier as a starting filter, then judge the agency on the people who would do your work and whether they have built what you need before.
How to evaluate a BigCommerce agency
Tier gets you a shortlist. The interview decides the project.
The most reliable predictor of how a project goes is which people you get after kickoff, and whether they have built the specific thing you need. Here is what we would ask, and what a weak answer sounds like:
| What to ask | Why ask it | A weak answer |
|---|---|---|
| Who is on my account after kickoff? | Senior people sell the work, then juniors deliver it. | "You will have a dedicated team" with no names or tenure. |
| What have you migrated from? | Every partner knows BigCommerce. Knowing the platform you are leaving is the rare part. | Platform logos with no migration story attached. |
| Show me a B2B build with real pricing logic. | Customer groups, bulk pricing, and quotes are where these projects get hard. | A B2C portfolio and reassurance that B2B is similar. |
| Which ERP or OMS have you integrated? | Integrations are where budgets go over. Named systems beat categories. | "We integrate with anything via API." |
| References at my revenue level. | A $2M store and a $50M store are different jobs. | References from much smaller or much larger brands. |
| What does support look like in month 9? | The build is a fraction of the relationship. | Hourly blocks with no response time commitment. |
A longer list is in our guide to agency questions, and it applies to any platform.
What does BigCommerce cost in 2026?
BigCommerce renamed every plan in June 2026. Standard became Core, Plus became Growth, Pro became Scale, and Enterprise became Performance. Plan thresholds are based on trailing twelve month inclusive GMV, which is gross order value after a 10% reduction.
The update also added a BigCommerce fee for self service stores that use outside payment providers: 2.0% on Core, 1.0% on Growth, and 0.6% on Scale. The fee also applies to offline orders such as purchase orders, so B2B stores pay it on invoiced orders too. We work through the math in our BigCommerce pricing guide.
On the agency side, published project minimums on this page range from $5,000 at Americaneagle.com, Canesta, and Folio3 to $100,000 at Zaelab. Each "Starts at" figure below is the agency's own published minimum or the minimum project size on its Clutch profile. Where neither exists, the table says on request.

Best for: Mid market and enterprise brands with B2B, integration, or migration complexity that want senior people on the account from start to finish.
What changed since the first version of this guide
This guide first went live in March 2022. Seven agencies from that version are no longer profiled here. Here is what happened to each one.
| Agency | What changed | Where it stands in 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Guidance | Acquired by OneMagnify | Listed as OneMagnify (Formerly Guidance), Enrolled tier, profiled above |
| Command C | Not listed in the BigCommerce directory | Women owned, now a Shopify Premier Partner working with 8 and 9 figure brands |
| Digitawise | Rebranded as Canesta | Still a BigCommerce partner, profiled above |
| Modern Tribe | Moved to moderntribeagency.com | WordPress and enterprise web, with no eCommerce practice |
| RMG | Not listed in the BigCommerce directory | Still lists BigCommerce among the platforms it works with |
| Flylight Media | No BigCommerce work published | Still active in Portsmouth, NH |
| Mercutio | Website no longer online | Its domain, getmercutio.com, serves no site |
When is BigCommerce the right platform?
BigCommerce is strong where merchants underestimate it: native B2B features like customer groups and bulk pricing, a choice of payment processor, multi storefront on one backend, and an API that holds up under real integration work. For a distributor with a complex catalog, it is the faster and cheaper answer.
| Situation | Stay on BigCommerce | Look at migrating |
|---|---|---|
| B2B pricing rules | Native groups and bulk pricing already cover it | You have outgrown them and are writing custom logic |
| Payments | The open payments fee is small at your volume | The open payments fee changes your math |
| App needs | Native B2B features cover what you would otherwise buy as apps | The app you need only exists elsewhere |
| Team | You have developers who know Stencil | Hiring for the stack keeps stalling |
| Roadmap | Your catalog and channels are stable | Agentic commerce and AI checkout are on your roadmap |
Lately, we have received many inquiries from brands looking to leave BigCommerce. The June 2026 fee for self service stores that don't use BigCommerce's preferred payment providers is part of it. The other part is that Shopify releases new features much faster, and the store counts show it: Store Leads counts 36,450 live BigCommerce stores in Q3 2026, down 10% year over year and down from a peak of 48,231 in Q4 2019. Live Shopify stores grew 15% over the same year.
We launched Island Watch on Shopify Plus in July 2026, and Razor Emporium is moving with us now. Both made the call for those two reasons. We have also talked brands out of moving. The worst reason to migrate is that your agency only knows one platform.
When you should NOT hire an agency
Not every store needs an agency, and that is coming from someone who runs one.
If you are doing under $1M in annual revenue with a theme, a catalog, and an email tool, a good freelancer will give you more attention for less money. An agency earns its overhead once the work outgrows one person: B2B and DTC on one store, ERP integration, multi storefront, or a migration with tens of thousands of SKUs.
| Your situation | Better choice | Typical cost |
|---|---|---|
| Under $1M a year, theme setup, catalog, email tool | Freelancer | $75 to $125 per hour |
| Project budget under $10K | Freelancer or a smaller Enrolled agency | $5K to $10K |
| B2B plus DTC, ERP integration, 10,000+ SKUs | Agency | $25K and up |
Conclusion
Before you sign, ask every agency on your shortlist for the most complex BigCommerce project they have finished that looks like yours, then ask to speak with that client. Their answer will tell you more than any list, this one included.
If your project involves a migration, B2B, or ERP integration, tell us what you are working with and we will give you an honest read on scope, timeline, and budget.
