Fabric to Shopify Migration Services

Fabric is a complex commerce platform that requires separate pieces to be linked and maintained by hand. It promises freedom, but it usually costs too much time and tech work for most businesses. Shopify Plus gives you the same freedom but is much cheaper and easier to run. Shero moves businesses from Fabric to Shopify Plus, combining all those separate pieces into one simple system.

12-20

Weeks for a mid-market Fabric to Shopify Plus migration

Fabric to Shopify Plus migrations run 12 to 20 weeks because Fabric's modular architecture means the catalog, OMS, promotions engine, and storefront are all separate systems that each need a migration plan. The ERP integration layer built on Fabric's APIs also needs to be rebuilt for Shopify Plus. Timeline depends on which Fabric modules are in use and how complex the integration layer is.

4+

Separate Fabric modules that each require a migration plan

Fabric's modular architecture includes separate products for PIM, OMS, Promotions, and Storefront, each with its own data model and API. A Fabric to Shopify migration is not one migration it is four or more, each requiring its own mapping to Shopify's unified data model. Shero scopes each module during discovery before committing to a timeline.

98%

Client Retention

98% of Shero's clients stay on retainer after their project closes. Fabric to Shopify Plus migrations deliver a platform that requires ongoing development as the brand builds out Shopify Plus capabilities to replace what Fabric's modules provided.

Shopify

Premier Partner

Shero holds Shopify Premier Partner status, one of fewer than 150 agencies globally. Fabric to Shopify Plus migrations requiring PIM and catalog restructuring, OMS replacement, promotions engine migration, and ERP integration rebuild require both enterprise platform depth and Shopify Plus expertise.

The collaboration between us and Shero Commerce on the JustRite multi store site went beyond what we had hoped for. Their dedication to understanding our unique requirements has greatly enhanced our online presence.

What a Fabric to Shopify Plus migration involves

Fabric's modular architecture means the migration scope is different from a monolithic platform. The setup involves:

  • Fabric PIM catalog export and Shopify Plus product and metafield data migration
  • Fabric OMS data migration and Shopify Plus order management configuration
  • Promotions and discounting logic rebuilt using Shopify Functions and Discount APIs
  • Headless storefront migrated from Fabric APIs to Shopify Storefront API
  • ERP integration rebuild on Shopify Plus using Celigo, Patchworks, or custom middleware
  • URL redirect map and SEO preservation through the Fabric to Shopify transition

Why brands work with Shero on Fabric to Shopify Plus migration

Shero runs the discovery across PIM, OMS, promotions, and storefront before committing to a timeline or fixed scope.

01

Fabric PIM catalog mapped to Shopify's product and metafield structure

Fabric's PIM stores product data in a structure different from Shopify's product and variant model. Attributes, relationships, and enrichment data in Fabric PIM must be mapped to Shopify products, metafields, and metaobjects before migration begins. Shero documents this mapping as the first step of the engagement so the catalog lands correctly in Shopify rather than needing restructuring after import.

02

Fabric OMS replaced by Shopify's order management or a third-party OMS

Fabric's OMS handles order routing, fulfilllment logic, and inventory orchestration separately from the storefront. Shopify Plus handles order management natively for most use cases. For brands with complex fulfilllment logic, a third-party OMS connected to Shopify Plus is the right approach. Shero scopes the OMS requirement during discovery and configures the right solution as part of the migration.

03

Promotions and discounting logic rebuilt using Shopify Functions

Fabric's promotions engine handles complex discount and pricing rules. Shopify's Discount API and Shopify Functions cover most standard use cases. Complex promotional logic tiered pricing, bundle discounts, customer-group-specific offers is rebuilt using Shopify Functions. Shero maps each promotion type from Fabric to its Shopify equivalent during discovery.

04

Headless storefront migrated from Fabric APIs to Shopify Storefront API

Fabric storefronts are typically built on Next.js or another framework connecting to Fabric's commerce APIs. The storefront itself migrates to Shopify's Storefront API or Hydrogen. Shero assesses whether the existing frontend can be adapted to Shopify's API layer or whether a new storefront build is the faster path, which connects to the headless and Hydrogen development work Shero does.

05

ERP integrations rebuilt for Shopify Plus rather than carried over from Fabric

Integrations built on Fabric's APIs do not transfer to Shopify. ERP, third-party logistics, and data platform connections all need to be rebuilt on Shopify Plus's integration layer. Shero rebuilds the ERP integration alongside the store migration so operational data flows are not interrupted at go-live, as part of the ERP integration practice Shero runs.

06

Fabric migration only recommended when the operational overhead genuinely exceeds what the business needs

Fabric's modular architecture makes sense for brands that need to replace individual commerce modules without rebuilding the entire stack. For brands where the integration and maintenance overhead of four separate modules is disproportionate to the business requirements, Shopify Plus is the right simplification. Shero makes this assessment in discovery rather than assuming migration is the right answer for every Fabric implementation.

Fabric's modular architecture requires a migration plan per module, not per platform. Shero scopes all four before committing to a timeline.

Invisible Bead Extensions®

Working with Shero Commerce on our migration from WordPress to Shopify was honestly such a pleasant experience. We’d been on WordPress for five years with tons of content and very specific styling, and moving all of it into one cohesive Shopify site was no small feat — this was a genuinely complex, highly technical migration. But they pulled it off on deadline with zero errors and zero issues. Their team showed up with everything we needed: a project manager, multiple developers, marketing leads, email specialists, and CRO experts, all coordinated through dedicated meetings and a real task management system. They also designed several high impact conversion pages so our digital presence didn’t just function better — it looked beautiful too. Since migrating, we’ve seen an increase in revenue thanks to having one simplified, cohesive platform. I’m so grateful for how seamlessly they executed this, and I’d recommend Shero Commerce to anyone facing a migration like ours.“
